The Three Year Old Program for children who will reach the age of 3 by December 1 of the current school year provides a nurturing atmosphere in which children's introduction to the educational process is accepting, inviting, and encouraging, helping to establish a positive attitude towards school. Teachers assist the children in experiencing a positive separation from home: providing opportunities to work with various media forms; helping to develop listening skills; offering opportunities for large and small motor development; exposing them to readiness concepts in reading, writing, and math; encouraging growth in social development; and promoting an awareness of health and safety. (There are 2 teachers and a maximum of 14 children in each 3 year old class)

The Four Year Old Program for children who will reach the age of 4 by December 1 of the current school provides further development of educational conceps of the 3's program in math, science and literature, as well as social, emotional and physical growth. There are many opportunities for making choices, becoming independent thinkers, and developing confidence. These children have weekly Zoophonics and Spanish lessons. They go on field trips to enrich their studies of various themes. (There are 2 teachers and a maximum of 16 children in each 4 year old class)

The Pre-K Program for children who will reach the age of 5 by March 1, 2011 and are able to... Cut with scissors independently, write name, and recognize letters and numbers. Although there is free choice in this class and the children have a lot of fun, it is more curriculum driven. The teachers expand more on Spanish, Science, and Handwriting Without Tears. Children are required to sit for longer periods of time. (There are 2 teachers and a maximum of 16 children in each class)

4 days/week Pre-K: $1,980/year $220/month

Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu 8:45-11:45 a.m.  

 

Enrollment

Enrollment Policy

A $45 non-refundable registration fee for one child (and $20 for each additional child in a family) plus the first month's tuition is required at registration to guarantee enrollment. If a child is unable to attend in the fall, half of the first month's tuition will be refunded if the child withdrawals on or before July 1st.

Early Enrollment (Jan 11th @7:00 p.m.): During the second week after school resumes in January, enrollment for the coming fall is opened to...

  • Families with children currently enrolled in the program.
  • Children and grandchildren of Church members.

Alumni Enrollment: New this year!!! Families who were enrolled in our program in the past and have a gap year due to children's ages are now able to enroll after early enrollment but before open enrollment.

Open Enrollment (Jan 13th @ 7p.m.): During the second week in January, enrollment is opened to the community.

  1. Dates of enrollment will be published and Enrollment Brochures distributed prior to the beginning of enrollment.
  2. Based on the public guidelines, children in the traditional 3's and 4's classes must attain their class age by December 1 of the current year. Children in the Pre-K class should be 5 by March 1 of the current year.
  3. Children may not be enrolled in more than one class at a time at Mayflower Preschool.
  4. Children who are enrolled for the following school year but are withdrawn before July 1st, will be refunded 1/2 of the first month's prepaid tuition.
  5. A child who has been withdrawn and wishes to return will have their name placed on a waiting list unless an opening exists in the class.

A Community Open House will be held on Thursday, January 6th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for any family interested in learning more about Mayflower Preschool to visit the facilities, and meet the teachers.
