Each child's birthday will be celebrated on a special day arranged by the teachers and parents. A treat other than cupcakes is suggested.
Teachers will strive to maintain good communication with parents. Daily contact is made at drop-off and pick-up times, monthly newsletters are sent home, and Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled during the year. Any concerns that parents have should first be addressed with the teachers. If no resolution is reached, the concern should be addressed with the directory. If necessary, a special conference with parents, teachers and director will be arranged.
Parent-Teacher Get-Acquainted Sessions will occur in the fall, and Parent/Teacher conferences will occur in the spring to share information and observations about each child's experiences at home and in the Preschool. Additional conferences by be scheduled as needed.
Parents having an interest, talent or profession that they are willing to share with the children as an enrichment activity, are encouraged to do so. We welcome parental participation! (Classroom volunteers must have a Parent Volunteer Statement on file.)
A Program Evaluation Form is given to parents during the second semester. Parents' input to the program is valued and encouraged.
Parents interested in serving a three-year term on the Preschool Council should contact the Program Director or the Council Chairperson.
